Hop up to Selection (that’s up there on the banner toolbar between Layer and Filter)Īnd select Increment. Select your magic wand (my best friend tool) and select the outside of the circle: Using your mouse or track pad, click in place a few times so that it gives you one single solid circle without line pressure Using any pen, but you can also use the lineart pen tool I just gave you, increase the pen size to like… 250 px. I used to use this for lineart but it’s a little too soft for that and doesn’t handle transparency well Always at 4.0 size, as my canvas is always at LEAST 900 pixels in either direction- and usually more than that.Ī soft, fluid tool that I’ve been using forever. Unforgiving with selects/gaps but overall gives a nice clean look. This brush here is my main lineart brush- it’s sharp and solid which I really like.
Looked nice with multiply but was horrible to color in, even with Sai’s amazing select. Before I was using an oil/water brush, which had soft lines. I’m constantly changing how I do lineart. (for example pen, brush, marker, acrylic, eraser) This will be the starting point of your brush.Sure!! Despite Sai being a simple program at first, it has a lot of tricks to it! I learn something new about it all the time! Right click one of the light grey, empty boxes underneath your tools, and select a tool base.

Most of you probably already know how to make yourself brushes in SAI, but here it is just in case. Its one of the tools that comes with Paint Tool SAI when you first get it but I think the settings are changed a bit. I use it for getting my shading to look softer at some parts, I use it for blurring, blending, lighting, adding effects ect. Water Tool: Ahaha wow I use this tool way too much. Fur Tool: Although I've never actually found a use for this tool (sigh) it'd be really good for fur and I love the way it looks //v just haven't found a use for it yet.ħ.
Basically the same as the previous tool but with much better blending.Ħ. Acrylic Tool: I really need to rename my tools pff. Reason I like it though because its really good to lay down the colours you're going to use, as it's slightly see through, without making it look messy.ĥ. I use this one to lay down my colours while painting and not much else. Marker Tool #2: Completely different to marker tool one. Pencil Tool: Basically the same as the pen tool you automatically get in SAI, but with slightly changed settings for sharp, crisp and smooth lines C: I always use this one for lineart.Ĥ. (fav.me/d6v9lg6 as shown here) Picture above is a really bad example of what it is capable of, sorry ahaha :Lģ. Marker Tool: I mostly use the Marker tool for sketching, because it's soft and subtle and lines just turn out so much nicer <3 Also good for bushes or leaves.
It's nice and smooth and especially good for grass, fur, and small details.Ģ. It blends really nicely but you have to merge all your layers. Painting Brush: The Brush I use for most of my painting. These are my favourites/the ones I use most C:ġ. Thought I'd share some of my brushes since a couple of people have asked <3 I don't know how to fix issues with brush settings not saving sorry!
